Have just discovered something made of crystalline Win:
Iron Horse--the bluegrass group that did my favourite cover of "Enter Sandman"--are a) Alabama based, and b) touring, kinda.
If by "touring" you mean "rambling round fundraisers and such in Alabama and North Carolina".
Go look!

Now must see what hoops must be jumped through to get to the show at Paint Rock, September 19th...

EDIT!: A little digging brought up this: the 2009 Ole Timey Craft and Bluegrass Festival. Iron Horse's set is Saturday, but that's all I've got on it. Gates open at 09:00; the lodge is an hour and a half away from our apartment. Still don't know what tickets will run, but I'm pretty sure of two things--they won't be as much as Mom's shelling out for Billy Joel/Elton John, and they'll be General Admission.

There will also be buck dancing, "gun fights", wagon rides, and homemade ice cream.
And quilting.
... ( \0/! )

So.
We stalk this one, yes we do...

Okay.
So.
Last night, I was in dereliction of duty, just a bit.
While the rest of my co-conspirators were knocking out knockout cover designs for the book we're all working on, my happy ass was at a concert.

A big concert.

Well, big to me, anyhow. Because it was open to still cameras as long as they weren't pro models. And because after all the other bands, Styx was playing. My beloved Fuji FinePix S602Zoom made the cut, barely; there was a very kind and welcoming nest of other Styx fans waiting at the barricade when I got there.

Further musing on the show behind the cut, as well as some fangirly squee-ing. )

Pictures can be perused here, at DeviantArt. I'm actually kindof proud of some of them, this one and this one, particularly. :D

Alright.
Back to work with me.
