Makes things that would otherwise be annoying into entertaining anecdotes.
Makes you pay attention to life so you have stories to tell, makes you eager to listen to other people's.
Juan Tomas, you rock.
Currently in the middle of two books, Fortress in the Eye of Time by C. J. Cherryh, from Hawk; and Someplace to be Flying by Charles deLint, from Mikey.
The one...it's useful to read while playing Amber; puts one in the court-intrigue/things-are-deeper-than-they-first-appear mindset. And the language is beautiful...it's just *thick*... She writes in sentences that make mine look like the subject-predicate-period efforts of a three-year-old. Celtic knots of words. Gorgeous, but you've got to pay attention.
The other...okay, I'm biased. Any of you who've read more than five entries know how biased. This is falling back into the world that, in my mind, I haven't really left since I got to Chattanooga. Good things.
so yes. Mike, Hawk, you two rock, too.
Life is good.
