Quick one:
Feb. 5th, 2005 09:44 pmDad informed me, when I got to my folks' place tonight, that as of 28JAN05, Ma's Jeep CJ-7 is 23 years old. Two more, and it's a classic. Most of the original parts, right down to the clutch. New paint, but still... Ain't that somethin'?
In other news, as of 14:28 today, Ma's little girl is 22.
Three more and she's a classic.
Not bad, either. Comparatively low mileage, all the original parts... worked on the clutch some since she was younger; we like to think it's improved...
And she can do her *own* paint jobs...
Ain't that somethin?

Missed a couple of friends at the party last night, due to illness on the part of one and concern for his little one's safety on the part of the other. Wholly understandable, and all the best of hopes go round to both and each. And hugs. Many hugs.
Still enjoyed it, though. It's amazing what a difference having Pack makes in a person's perspective.
We called it a night at about 03:00 this morning. Adam and his friend Matt crashed in Mel's living room; I took a nice warm bath and hair-washing, then claimed her son's top bunk and a big thick comforter and passed out until about 08:30. Opened my eyes, and sitting patiently beside my foot was her sleek little white cat Maggie, staring at me.
"Oh good! Now you can pet me!
Teaching you the meaning of life and how to be a better human...pet the cat. Don't just use your palms and fingertips--the backs of your wrists work, see? and your knuckles? Forearms are good for walking under--move...
What you need in your life is more fur. Here."
~shakes head, smiles~
And to top it all off, it hasn't rained all weekend (knocks on wood). It has indeed been beautiful.
This is good.
I am blessed.
Now I get to go to bed and wrangle a snoozy, itchy Squeak. Poor fellow; his chickenpox vaccine is showing itself, and his grandmother keeps her house a comfy 75 degrees F.
Hugs and health to all.
I love you.
