Today's title brought to you by the inimitable Seamus.
"Got a new creepy pickup line," he says, with the magpie grin, and then fires that beauty at me.
Delightful fellow. ~grin~
My grandmother is doing well thus far. Three bypasses, all textbook-simple to deal with (as simple as surgury *can* be, I guess). She's in recovery still, until a space in the care unit opens up. At which point she'll have a room, which will be a shiny thing. Listening to Mom on the phone just now, I'm reassured that coming to Huntsville was the right choice: Great Aunt Ruby is in town and in full Hyacinth Bucket effect; they're having enough trouble maintaining civility in the family waiting room without yours truly added to the mix.
Mom's exact words: "I wanted to duct tape her mouth shut and tie her to a chair."
I'm a bad daughter; I couldn't help laughing.
Too many rats in the box, Geordie; too many rats in the box.
So then.
Last night, we played a nice round of D&D. I decided to break form and be a chick in chainmail. Eighteen Strength...ten Wisdom...twelve Charisma. Kinda cute in a "ferret with a +2 mace" way. You know, there's something freeing about being the hired muscle in a group. And my compatriots turned out to be interesting fellows, themselves.
Jess: "Give a man a fire, you warm him for a day. SET a man on fire..."
Mark, Seamus, Monica, & Jess: "You warm him for the rest of his life."
Seamus: "I see you're familiar with The Order."
A good night.
Today I was moral support for the moving-in of Mel's new couch. Ahhhh, soul-sucking sueded red couch... ;) As for the rest of the night, I don't know. A nap might be in order. Maybe a book. Yay, peacefulness.
So yes. There's that.
Enjoy your weekends, guys.
I am.
