Aug. 25th, 2005 10:08 amYet again, I came to the update page with *something* in mind to say, and yet again, that *something* has taken flight the second my fingers find the keys...
snarf. >.<
Ma was channel surfing with Dae this morning and came through Showtime. School of Rock was on. She thought "Oh, music; this is a nice change from his usual kiddy-show routine." and left it there.
Have I mentioned how much Jack Black makes me grin?
He's equal parts MeatLoaf and Jim Steinman, with some wicked taste in music thrown in... Oh, such fun...
So we spent the morning bouncing to some heavy classics and desperately wishing for teachers with that much passion and a president like the one the writers of The West Wing created...
Part of me's glad for the bonding time in front of the tube, but deep in the back of my mind, there's something screaming about two happy years spent without a television and the downfall of society...
Next Wednesday, I get to discuss meeting with Kim, the lass who's setting up a local MT clinic, and Sara, the other MT she's signing on...a meeting to further discuss scheduling, our responsibilities as contractors, and what specifically the house is doing for us besides giving us shelter that justifies them taking 50% of our cut. I don't have a beef with the 50% split, mind you, so long as it's got something like "We do your linens, your marketing, your booking, and your billing. You do massage and filing." attached to it.
Lots of discussions and discussions about discussions.
I'm terrified I'm going to get gladhanded and left in the dark.
This could be so good.
But it could be so bad, too...
Note to self (and remind me of this, guys, will you?): CASH MY PAYCHECKS BEFORE I PUT THEM IN MY ACCOUNTS. Every time. Every time.
And get on the ball about the whole NCETMB thing. Because I don't want to be in this tiny little cluster of tiny little towns for the rest of my life or career.
