Jul. 19th, 2006 10:37 pmMy little man's new favorite movie is The Incredibles. He knows lines and costumes, he's learning to attach emotions to facial expressions. I'm pleased for a number of reasons by how well Disney and Pixar carried that one off. Quite pleased.

Tonight's set list for singing Dae to sleep:
"Throw Me a Rope"--KT Tunstall
"Wild World"--Cat Stevens
"The Boxer"--Simon & Garfunkel
"Song for the Asking"--Simon & Garfunkel
"Curtains"--Elton John
"We All Fall in Love Sometimes"--Elton John (yeah, I know; should've been the otherway round...)
"Skyline Pigeon"--Elton John
"Honky Cat"--Elton John
"All Night Thing"--Temple of the Dog
By this time, my wee man was squirming less and mumbling to himself. I figured it was about time to pack it in, so I started to get up. But from my captive audience comes a muddled and slightly desperate "SING, mama!"
And since the one thing I've wanted since I learned to sing was an avid listener, I caved:
"Alright, you, but only one more and then it's time for me to go to bed."
"Awwww!"
"Nonono, listen, check it out: you only get one more, but I'll make it a good long one. I'll give you some Bob Dylan."
Very clearly: "Bob... Dylan?"
"Yes, baby. Bob Dylan."
"hokay..."
And so he curled up under my chin and I gave him "Tangled Up in Blue." All...what, seven?...verses of it, as done by the Indigo Girls. He's out by "some are mathematicians, some are carpenters' wives..." I kiss his head and go.
~*~
Telling Mark about it as we ready for bed, he snickers and shakes his head.
"So what you're saying," he comments, "is now we've got Red Bob, Blue Bob, Happy Bob, Sad Bob, and Bob Dylan?"
"Pretty much, yeah."
~snort~ "Great."
And you know...it kindof is.
