Not, maybe, a show my Mom would totally dig, but I'm comparatively certain I wouldn't be the only creature smiling to know Ms. Ani DiFranco will be in Knoxville, at the Bijou Theatre, on the first of September.

Tickets haven't gone on sale yet, which is good.
It gives me time to find money for them...and for gas...and to get time off...and arrange a sitter...and all that jazz.
And who knows, I may not get everything in line in time.
But it's a goal, you know?

EDIT (22MAY07): Tickets go on sale 08JUN07; if the other shows on the Bijou's schedule are any indication, this marvellous misadventure might not cost me the earth. And just so I don't lose them, should the need arrive, here're links to the seating charts.

Manymanymany times. She is amazing live. Last time I saw her she was very pregnant and utterly adorable. She has this unexpected nervous giggle.

An Ani concert was also my daughter Kate's first concert at age 4. We had third row seats. Kate wore wings.

~bright smile~ Oh, wonderful. :D My mom took me to a Charlie Daniels/Alabama concert when I was 2; it's one of the few things I remember from being a squeaker.

If only I could be sure of the Bijou as a pot-free environment, I could probably make this Mark's first concert. Alas, the smoke of the herb makes him swell and cough and try to die....~shakes head~

Is it an indoor venue? If so, you are prolly safe.

Poor him. :( I never could smoke the stuff, but goodness, what a lovely smell...
