(no subject)

on schedule so far for the next shipment of books. Taking the weekend away from that so as to build my son a Flash costumre. Somebody shake me if I ever again propose to make 12" tall spats and a mask for someone who's just not capable of standing still long enough to be properly fitted; right now, I have two towels rolled up and stuffed into Dae's costume pants leg and shoe, so I can check the fit of the pattern I'm drafting from scratch.

~facepalm~
All this so I don't have to shell out for a ready made polyester thing.
I'm a sucker. :D

~wry smile~ I wish I knew how, too. Right this minute, I'm faking it; we'll see whether it works. And yes. :) Pictures of the painted turtleneck, sweatpants, and (hopefully) mask and spats. Once I get 'em wrangled.

I'm with you on the yech-clothes-shopping thing. Somewhere between the measurements the clothesmakers use to draft their creations and the measurements I have, there's a disconnect. I've never found a department store shirt that actually fit, and pants are perpetually too loose in the waist and too tight in the thigh. grr, commercially made clothes.

Wonderful! Mommy-made costume is the greatest cause it's the ONLY one like it. And if there is no sentimental value attached after the event they sell like mad!
