At practice tonight, there was a blond kid a few inches taller than Dae with a look on his face like the world had recently stepped on his toes and then elbowed past him on the sidewalk. No idea whether the attitude ran deeper than skin, because I didn't hear or see the kid speak. But about midway through class, I looked up from my book (Dae pays better attention when I don't, I've discovered) in time to see this kid launch a roundhouse-looking kick at my kid's chest.
Which Dae caught by the ankle and toe and held just off-balance enough to keep the kid from taking his foot back and trying again. All with a curious "Hey, man, what's up with you?" expression.
Then they both looked up and at the teacher, and Dae dropped the blond's foot, and the blond dropped and gave the teacher 20 pushups. *snap* That quick.
By the end of class, they were talking peacefully and the blond had lost a little of his shoulderchip.
I have no idea what happened, but it looked like it worked out alright.
Hm.
