Tender is the Night

...~inhale....exhale~ ... Life is so damn beautiful, sometimes, you know?

all the twilight and bitterblue. all the spring mornings and sweetgreens.

I want to carry this kind of awareness around inside me all the time, not just at 11:45pm (and Christ, how did it get that late?!) Maybe if I can hold on to the Beauty, I can manage to be the same thoughtful human in person as I am in print.

You'll have it forever, as long as you want it, as long as you try. I think even if you start losing your faculties (remembering my Alzheimer's patients...), you can still appreciate beauty in things, in your surroundings, even if you can't express it other than with a smile.
