To that aspect of my psyche that decides to notify me when someone I know is thinking of me:
Establish a call-block list. There are scents I'd just as soon not have following me round while I'm trying to enjoy Christmas with my family.

To that aspect of my psyche that keeps meticulous records of things like first dinners and dates and exchanges of hello and 'kay-fuck-off-bye:
*Establish some method of discrimination. Anniversaries and birthdays that have no bearing on current life are not of sufficient importance to merit reminding me. For example: The ex-husband's ex-girlfriend's birthday? Doesn't classify.

*Conversely: Keep track of birthdate for people whom I claim as Pack. THESE classify as having bearing and are to be formatted in the following manner: xxYYYzz, where xx=the two-digit designation of the day in question, YYY=the first three letters of the month (all CAPS), and zz=the last two digits of the birth year. No more of this "When is Rachel's birthday, again?" bullshit. Make a note.

*ALSO: e-mail addresses. Instead of just jotting these things down on a random sheet of paper in the notebook du jour, how about actually paying enough attention to remember them? You're anal retentive about useless things but slipshod about important ones. Step up.

To the Ghost of Christmas Past:
Get out. Just get out. I don't care where you go, I don't care where you sleep or whether it's warm there. You left once; you know the way.

Thank you, and have a Happy Holiday.

August somethingith. Not the 28th, because that's Hawk's and they're not the same. Earlier I think. :)

Seriously. Get it used at Amazon or something. It's an easy way to life organization with a Zen Buddist slant. "Mind like water", and all that jazz.

And read 43Folders.com. Mark might appreciate some o' that. It's Mac-centric and based heavily on David Allen's work.

Hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

~wry smile~ Christmas Past comes up for air sometimes when it's gone through the archives. I tell it to exorcise itself; it'll feel better...
